Show notes

The guys jump on the podcast to discuss some of Ben's favorite children books that help him with serving the kids at Mars Hill Bible School as a counselor. Ben discusses his vacation with his family and the need to rest up from vacation. Ben speaks to the positive of having two older kids who can help with the younger ones but sometimes they are the anti-heroes. Will praises those who work with little ones and leads to the different strategies of parenting between one child all the way up to five. The guys breakdown the importance of reading books and especially the ability to connect with characters in a book. Ben brings up Travis and Whitney's book "Reframing Hope: Our Journey Through Cancer, Adoption and Love" that is now available to preorder (https://www.benandtravis.com/store/p/reframing-hope) prior to discussing some of Ben's favorite books to help kids and adults relate. Ben asks Will what are some areas he might need help on being a dad and working with youth in the church. Ben then asks Travis about the areas he needs to improve on with his kids. Ben talks about the need to focus on empathy and equipping our kids with that "super power". The guys wrap up their discussion with what they are reading or listening to right now.
